Pompeu Gener as promoter and cultural activist through the international magazine Mundial Magazine (1911-1914) of Rubén Darío

Between 1911 and 1914, the Nicaraguan poet Rubén Darío edited the journal entitledMundial Magazine in which the modernist Pompeu Gener became the bridge between theCatalan and the Hispano-American intelligentsia. Gener, through correspondence withthe poet, made possible the collaboration of Catalan artists and writers in the journal and,at the same time, projected the Catalan culture into the world. This study therefore aimsto proclaim the figure of Pompeu Gener and his role as a unifying force, person withcontacts and cultural promoter and, in turn, to show the effect that Rubén Darío and hismagazine had in Catalonia.
