Symbolism was the most important movement of Russian art in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Was characterized as an interdisciplinary movement between different cultural events: literature, theater, music and visual arts. The Russian Symbolists defined the word symbol as a sign that linked two realities, two worlds: real and unreal. They sought to understand the world from a position of aesthetics, ethics, philosophy and mythology. The article presents the creativity of three great composers of the Age of Silver: Sergei Rachmaninov, Igor Stravinsky and Alexander Skriabin, focusing on its symbolic works, written under the influence of literature and art.
