Abstract

The serpent is an animal venerated by some cultures and repudiated by others. But, what does this fact owe? The ambiguity and the double meanings surround the different histories that wrap this animal. The gods, the women, the church, the alchemy and even Nietzsche have things to say about her. Is serpent a symbol of wisdom, of sin or of both things simultaneously?.
