Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, staged in Stratford upon Avon in 1949, marked the beginning of a close friendship between actor-director John Gielgud and theatrical costume and theater designer Mariano Andreu. Through the documentation, press and bibliography collected in this study, it is shown how the meeting took place, the preparation and the international dissemination of the play, with various tours and revivals.
