The 13th issue of Emblecat. Journal of Studies of Image, Art and Society presents a collection of articles and essays on art and history, organised in an anachronistic way to break with traditional historiography. It begins with two contrasting texts: one by Claudio Alvarado Lincopi, who offers a decolonial vision of the Western museum, and another by Francisco Quílez Corella, who analyses activities around Mariano Fortuny.

The articles deal with a variety of subjects: Albert Arnavat studies the impact of cannabis on Catalan art, Silvia Martínez-Comín recounts the demolition of the Casa Trinxet, and Aitor Quiney Urbieta examines the influence of the Ton-Fan group on Catalan art. Rafel Torrella Reñé analyses the relationship between photography and painting in the 19th century, while Francesc Quílez Corella delves into Fortuny's drawing.

From a feminist perspective, Elisabet Trulla Serra reviews the iconography of Saint Mary of Egypt from a gender perspective, and Felip González Martínez analyses the urban art of La Flor del Tamarindo. Santiago Mercader Saavedra presents a post-romantic album by Ramon Romaní, and Anna Pérez Milán studies the visual and critical impact of Harun Farocki's work.

The final section includes three texts: a review of Filiberto Montagut by Francesc Fontbona de Vallescar, a study of Cecilio Pla by Mireia Berenguer Amat, and a reflection by Anna Pérez Milán on Alfredo Jaar's visit to Barcelona in the framework of an exhibition on the poetry of the artist.
